Spotify without ads on iOS

This Loon plugin removes audio, Home, Search and scroll advertisements from the Spotify app and unlocks some premium features by patching the client configuration. It uses MITM to rewrite Spotify's API responses.

Requirements

  • iPhone or iPad with Loon 3.3.4 or newer
  • MITM enabled with the Loon certificate installed and trusted
  • QUIC fallback protection enabled in Loon settings
  • Spotify installed from the App Store, free account

How to install

  1. Open this page on your iPhone or iPad and tap Install
  2. Confirm with Add Plugin when Loon opens
  3. Enable MITM in Loon and trust the certificate if you have not done it yet
  4. Log out of Spotify and log in again so the new configuration is applied

Troubleshooting

Ads are still playing

Log out and log in again, then wait a few minutes. Make sure MITM is active for spclient.wg.spotify.com.

Audio quality cannot be set to Very High

This is a known limitation of the patch. Very High quality requires a real Premium subscription.

The app behaves strangely

Enable only one of the two protobuf scripts in the plugin settings, never both.
